BENSO, 2010
Wood, metal, brush, ink, paper.
With the idea of helping art students on those tough nights of hard work when its hard to relax and get work done, Bianca created BENSO, a "machine" that helps you get back to your zen zone by making Enso's; Enso it is one of the most common drawings in Japanese calligraphy. It symbolizes enlightenment , strength, elegance, the universe, and the void. In the philosophy of Zen Buddhism is painting the Ensō represents a moment in which consciousness is free and the body and mind are not restricted in their creative process.
Benso was instaled in one of studios at West Virginia University, where students were free to use it at any time to help them relax during finals week when the work load gets specially heavy.
In a world where almost everything is about how fast, how cheap, and how good you can create/get something. BENSO is re-born. BENSO is Bianca’s new studio in Zurich, born with the desire to imply human creativity.
BENSO´s goal is to release stress from our daily life to let creativity come in. For now the studio is occupied on ideas for a new book, kinder parks, adult recreational/living areas, and innovative ways to promote reforestation, education, & recycling, nomadgreen housing, and terrace food-garden design.

Student Work, 2007.
Oil on canvas.
I was trained in a traditional oil painting, in fact, I love to translate my ideas in oil, as the colors you can get are unbelievable. Sadly it can take months or years for a piece to be finished. On my studios in Mexico, and the USA I have many paintings on the way, for now I find markers and ink an easy, ¨quicker¨ way to translate my ideas when Im on the go. I really hope you like them. If you like more ¨traditional¨ art stay tune, as some day those paintings in my studios will come out ;)
